Protect and Preserve

Protect & Preserve is a high-end seasonal magazine that features a collection of essays, stories, artworks, research reports and visual discussions about the issues and threats our world faces in the modern era through storytelling and editorial illustrations.

Urban Forests: Our last hope features the contributions of eight emerging creatives to comment, educate and discuss the importance of sustainable urban forest management through editorial reports, poetic narratives, discursive essays and more.

This theme has been chosen in response to the research efforts of Dr Manuel Esperon Rodriguez, who currently practices as an environmental researcher at Western Sydney University. This issue’s goal is to inform readers about the importance of urban forests, and why making the correct climatic choices today will positively impact the readers of tomorrow.

Illustrations

I created editorial illustrations for three pages of the publication. I created the layout for the images to flow through the spreads to show the natural flow of nature and the story that is written on each page.
